Welcome to FINCA Uganda!
FINCA Uganda started its operations in Jinja District in 1992 as a microfinance institution. In 2004, FINCA Uganda was licensed as a Microfinance Deposit Taking Institution (MDI) thus becoming the first MDI to be regulated by Bank of Uganda under the MDI Act of 2003.
FINCA Uganda is a subsidiary of FINCA Microfinance Holding Company LLC (FMH) and part of a network of 21 microfinance institutions and banks that provide socially responsible financial services that enable low-income individuals and communities to invest in the future. Not only are we part of a global microfinance organization but one thing that makes us different is our mission, which is to bring the benefits of micro-finance to as many low-income entrepreneurs as our financial and personnel resources allow. Besides this, our 25 years of experience in Uganda puts us in a much better position of understanding our clients more that any other microfinance institution and being able to provide relevant financial solutions that have a positive impact on the lives of those accessing them.
Currently, we offer Savings, Loans and Money transfer services to our clients across our 27 networked branches and Points of Service (POS) agencies countrywide through a technology-enabled multi-channel delivery system.
In addition, together with other development partners, FINCA Uganda offers financial literacy especially among the youth through the Smart Start programme. Under this programme, customers/youth are equipped with basic financial management skills such as budgeting, saving and investment alongside other life skills such as soap and candle making. So far a total of more than 5000 youth across the country have benefited from this programme and more are still on course to being qualified.
