Bank of Uganda has issued a directive regarding early closure of the clearing house. This is as a result of the Directive from H.E. The president of Uganda’s address on the CORONA Virus (COVID-19) pandemic where the use of private motor vehicles was banned from 1st April 2020 to 14th April 2020.
This has impacted the clearing times for RTGS and EFT payments. As a result any payments or instructions made after the following times will be cleared on the following business day;
RTGS by 2:00pm
EFT by 12:00pm
The above measures have been put in place to enable the staff leave their work station early in order to get to their residences before the 7:00pm Curfew.
